Our Undergraduate Foundation Programme in Life Sciences - Pathway to Medicine is a three term programme, designed to prepare you to join the Medical School at this top-ranking UK university and give you the tools to thrive in your degree studies and beyond. Following a highly comprehensive selection process, successful students will be ready to start a five-year medicine degree at the University of Aberdeen. After completing the five-year degree course with the required grades, you will receive the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB). Medicine is a competitive, demanding career field, which means students will need to be dedicated and ambitious in their studies. This is why, each year, there are up to 20 places available on the Undergraduate Foundation in Life Sciences - Pathway to Medicine programme at the International Study Centre. It is important to note that, provided you meet the English language and are on track with your predicted grades/school report to meet the academic entry requirements, offers to study this pathway programme will be made on a first-come-first-served basis.
Undergraduate Foundation Programme in Physical Sciences & Engineering
The University of Aberdeen has a long history in the sciences and the Undergraduate Foundation Programme is the best way for international students to benefit from this. Equivalent to the first year of your undergraduate degree, you will still graduate in the typical four years it takes to complete a degree in Scotland.
Undergraduate Foundation Programme in Life Sciences
By studying our Undergraduate Foundation Programme in Life Sciences, you can choose to follow the scientific pathway which appeals most to your career ambitions and interests. You will follow your chosen subject route for one year at the International Study Centre before transitioning to the University starting with the second year of your degree.

Choose an Undergraduate Foundation Programme in Humanities, Law and Social Science and progress into the second year of degree study at the University of Aberdeen with exception of the LLB programmes which offer first year entry only. Based in the International Study Centre at the heart of the University campus, this one-year programme allows you to graduate in the typical four years of a Scottish degree (some exceptions apply, see below).

The Undergraduate Foundation Programme in Business, Economics, Accounting & Real Estate will prepare you for undergraduate study in a related field at Aberdeen. Equivalent to the first year of a four-year Scottish degree, our pathway programme gives you the start you need to graduate in the same amount of time as a domestic student.
