Undergraduate Pathway in Media
The School of Media’s facilities are used by the industry as well as Media students! The School’s permanent green screen studio is one of the largest in the UK. Industry-standard facilities also include four TV studios and six radio studios. As a Media student, you will have the opportunity to complete at least two industry placements.
Undergraduate Pathway in Marketing
The University has its own in-house, student-run marketing agency, where you can sharpen your skills by working on real briefs from leading businesses. Degrees are recognised and aligned with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), ensuring fresh and relevant content full of industry insight. You have the opportunity to specialise after your First Year, depending on where you’d like your career to take you – Advertising and Public Relations, Consumer Psychology, Digital, Retailing or Professional Practice.
Undergraduate Pathway in Law
The School of Law ventures beyond boundaries by combining legal studies with a focus on social justice and human rights, helping you to become an ethical legal professional. Access valuable work placement opportunities at some of the biggest law firms in the West Midlands. The City Centre Campus houses simulated Crown and Magistrates Courts, and is ideally located close to Birmingham’s legal district.
Undergraduate Pathway in Jewellery
The School of Jewellery is one of the largest in the world and is located in Birmingham’s working Jewellery Quarter, where a significant amount of British jewellery is still made today. The School offers over 125 years of expertise, and the Assay Office is home to one of the only Gemmology degrees in the world. Industry-standard facilities include specialist horology labs, 3D printing, and silversmithing and jewellery labs.
Undergraduate Pathway in Health and Life Sciences
99% of the University's Health Science students are in work or completing further study six months after graduating (DLHE 2016/17). As a Health student, you would spend up to half your time on placement, developing strong links with employers – and these links can often lead to job offers, sometimes before graduation! The University’s Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences has been awarded the Skills for Health Quality Mark, in recognition of the high standard of learning and training delivered to the health sector (2019-21).
