    Progression to Durham University

83% of students who completed their pathway programme and achieved the required grades were offered a place to study at Durham University in 2020.

Progression to Durham University has increased year-on-year due to the developed and increased support at the International Study Centre.

As one of the highest ranked universities in the UK, courses are competitive and entry requirements are high. Durham University expects its students to focus on achieving their best and our teachers are here to make sure you have the skills you need to succeed.

    • 83% of students from China

…completed their ISC programme and achieved the required grades were offered a place at Durham University in 2020.

Right to work up to 20 hours per week

    • Anyone studying on a Student Visa during their pathway programme at the ISC are entitled to work.

    • This allows students to work for a maximum of 10 hours per week during term-time for any course below degree level (foundation and IY1 programmes) or 20 hours for any course at degree level (PMP), and 40 hours per week outside of term-time. This is the maximum hours in any one week, including paid or unpaid work and for one or more organisation.

    • The main purpose of this visa route is for students to come to the UK to study. Where a student is permitted to work, the intention is that this should be an opportunity to gain work experience in their field of study.

    • At our ISC, we want our students to become confident, self-aware, highly skilled and extremely employable graduates. Study Group’s CareerAhead activities are designed to give students a head start, and the paid/voluntary working rights open more doors for our students to further improve their employability skills.

    NEW: post-study work visa

After studying, you can start your career in the UK with the new Graduate Immigration Route – a 2-year post-study work visa for international students graduating from UK universities.

Take the first step with a pathway programme at the International Study Centre to gain the skills you'll need both on your degree and in your career.
